API staff and two partners have over 20 years accounting experience in almost every facet of accounting: general ledger, income tax, payroll, revenue accounting, property tax, sales tax compliance, accounts payable, collections, accounts receivable, budgeting, purchasing, treasury management, QuickBooks consulting and software implementations. Both partners have CFO and Controllership experience and act in this capacity for some of our clients.
Our highly trained staff of degreed accountants and experienced accounting specialists is well-versed across industries and holds QuickBooks ProAdvisor designations.
Jay Orzech, President:
Before co-founding API in June of 1996, Jay worked for Plantation Pipe Line Company as a staff accountant. During his 13 years of service with Plantation, Jay experienced almost every area within the Accounting & Finance Department. Specific areas worked include: accounts payable, account receivable, sub-ledger, general ledger, sales & use tax, payroll and property taxation. During his last two years at Plantation, Jay was assigned to the PeopleSoft implementation team for the HR department where he gained experience in HR and Benefits Administration.
Jay holds a B. A. in Accounting from Georgia State University.
Since 1996 Jay has held the position of President for Accounting Partners, Inc. His responsibilities include client development and retention, marketing and advertising, CFO/Controllership duties for several clients, QuickBooks consulting and training and client review services.
Paul Romig, Jr., Vice President:
Paul had 15 years of experience with Plantation Pipe Line Company. His areas of expertise include budgeting, corporate income taxes and business planning and development. His primary responsibilities during his tenure included: administering a $100 million capital and expense budget, filing federal and multi-state income tax returns and tariff administration.
Paul holds a B. S. in Accounting as well as an MBA in Finance from Virginia Tech.
Since 1996, Paul has held the position of Vice President of Accounting Partners, Inc. His responsibilities include employee management, company administration, management of our tax practice including tax planning services and client review services.
Jay, Paul and their staff utilize their vast corporate experiences and ideas to help meet and exceed their client’s needs.
